Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Teresa Cullen said “My working background is in the voluntary and charity sector and so I know on a first-hand basis how incredibly crucial and valuable the  work undertaken by volunteers within Broxtowe is. We are so very lucky to have such a wonderful community that is filled with volunteers both young and old who generously give up their time on a regular basis. They deserve to be recognised and to have an evening celebrating them.”
