£30000 Improvements to Long Lane Recreation Ground, Attenborough
Broxtowe Borough Council has improved the car parking to meet the demand that this busy recreation ground receives. The car park has been extended and resurfaced with new gates installed.
Work has also been carried out to add more parking spaces, including a dedicated disabled parking spot and improved access into the site. This work has given the area a refresh and improved conditions.
To finalise the improvements, the bark chips in the play area have been topped up and a new toddler play item was fitted. A one seater merry-go-round was selected as the Council tries to provide as many activities as possible in a play area. The merry go round has helped to expand on the activities, adding to the existing range.
Portfolio Holder for Environment, Helen Skinner said ‘The improvement to this popular recreation ground will make it more accessible for visitors and make play even more fun for our children! We look forward to seeing our residents continue to enjoy spending time in this valuable space.’
This work aims to enhance the area for our residents so that everyone can enjoy the space and continue to feel Pride in Parks through our parks and open spaces improvements initiative.
