Saturday 23rd November sees Stapleford Light up for in the countdown to Christmas. From 4.30pm-6.30pm on Walter Parker Square and Victoria Street car park there will a bundle of festivities to get you in the mood for Christmas. From community choirs and live music performances on stage to a wonderful array of independent arts and crafts stalls to start the Christmas shopping off in style. The official Lights Switch on will be at 5.30pm with the Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe and Mayor of Stapleford switching on the lights. The fireworks will be at 6.30pm as the finale of the festive event. While you are in town you can visit Santa in his Grotto on Walter Parker Square where each child will receive a Christmas gift and a ticket to be in the chance of being on stage for the official light switch on. Pop in and say hello to the local businesses staying open that bit later for the occasion. There will festive treats such as roasted chestnuts and children's rides too.
