For example, the post holder will work to shape the identity of the Broxtowe Local Enterprise Agency - how businesses and the Council can work jointly to secure growth and prosperity.   Broxtowe is also the first Council in the Country to issue notices under High Street Rental Auctions powers and the candidate will be working to bring abandoned businesses premises back into economic use.  The successful candidate will support for inward investment promotions and work with partners to strengthen enterprise and business support.

We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

  • Negotiation and persuasion displaying credibility with businesses and investors alike.
  • Day to day project management and project development activity including both capital and revenue budgets with a particular focus on business support, promotion and marketing.
  • Using government funding and all the criteria for managing it.
  • Information tracking and measuring success towards targets.

The ideal candidate would be:

A calm, confident communicator someone who understands businesses and the small business environment.    Creative, intelligent and likes to break new ground.  A good team worker who can support others and work with diverse partners.

What you need to know:
The post will be offered as a hybrid role with some working in the Borough and some working from home.  There will be a need to attend business meetings and occasionally work outside normal hours.    We are part funding this post with UKSPF but moving forward we will help you to succeed with the aim of making the role permanent.
