Event Management Plan

If you are planning on hosting an event which is likely to require a Temporary Event Notice or involvement from the Safety Advisory Group, it is recommended that you complete an Event Management Plan. If you're not sure where to start, we've developed a template to help you know exactly what you need in place to ensure your event runs safely.

Temporary Event Notice

If you are hosting an event or 'licensable activity' on unlicensed premises or outside your current licence permissions then you will need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN).

Licensable activity includes:

  • selling alcohol
  • serving alcohol to members of a private club
  • providing entertainment, e.g. music, dancing or indoor sporting events
  • serving hot food or drink between 11pm and 5am

A TEN is required for events with one of these 'licensable activity' which have fewer than 500 people attending and must last no more than 168 hours. They can be held either outdoors or indoors.
