- Prior Approval Householder Extensions
Prior Approval Householder Extensions
Under the Town & Country Planning Order 1995 (General Permitted Development, as amended), new legislation (statutory instrument 2013 No. 1101) came into force in 2013 for single storey rear extensions between:
- 3 metres and 6 metres for terraced or semi-detached houses
- 4 metres and 8 metres for detached houses
The legislation means that Planning Permission may not always be required for extensions meeting these requirements.
To find out if your extension meets the requirements of prior approval or whether you need planning permission, fill in the online form (Opens in a New Window) or download the PDF form (.pdf) (215KB) (Opens in a New Window) to see if your extension meets the requirements for prior approval or whether you need planning permission.
