Broxtowe Voluntary Awards

The Broxtowe Voluntary Awards is an evening dedicated to recognising and honouring the local volunteers who support our Borough with their amazing work.

The evening itself will include the awards presentation, music and a buffet and offer all ticket holders the chance to celebrate your friends, neighbours and family members. You can nominate anyone you feel fits into one of the eight categories below from Monday 14 August. Nominations will close on Sunday 17 September and the nominations will then be shortlisted and judged by a panel of judges, including members of the voluntary sector. All winners will be notified before 8 October, and they will receive a free ticket to the event.

The awards categories are listed below:

  1. Lifetime Achievement Volunteer Award
  2. Youth Work Award
  3. Young Volunteer Award (under 18)
  4. Community Hero Award
  5. Culture and Heritage Award
  6. Sporting Volunteer Award
  7. Green Futures Award
  8. Benefitting Broxtowe Award (overall winner)

The event will take place on 1 November at the newly opened Plessey Centre and ticket sales open from 18 September, for £12.50 per person. Proceeds from the event will go to the Mayor’s chosen charity, the Broxtowe Community Fund which is a community funding source for local volunteer groups and charities, and so any profit raised on the night will go back into supporting the voluntary sector in Broxtowe.
