Tattooing, Piercing & Electrolysis

If you offer tattooing, semi-permanent skin colouring, cosmetic piercing, electrolysis or acupuncture you must be registered with Broxtowe Borough Council. If you work from premises, they must also be registered. Once registered, you will be issued with a certificate of registration. Each activity requires a one-off registration.

There are no restrictions.

How We Process Your Application

An inspection will be undertaken before the registration certificate is issued. Fees are payable for both the premises and persons offering treatments.

Your application will be processed within 3 months. 

If you do not receive the license, you will be not be able to trade.

Tattoo and Skin Piercing Hygiene Accreditation Scheme

Nottinghamshire has a voluntary Hygiene Accreditation Scheme to improve and maintain hygiene and safety standards within premises offering Tattooing, Semi-Permanent Make-Up and Cosmetic Body Piercing Treatments.
