H128 Independent Living Co-ordinator

Salary: £27,959 - £29,303 Grade 6. Full Time, 37 hours, Monday - Friday.

We are looking for an Independent Living Coordinator to join our Independent Living Team who work with over 1400 residents across Broxtowe living in our self-contained Independent Living properties.

This exciting and fulfilling role works closely with residents, their families and external support agencies to provide housing related services. You will work closely with residents to develop an individual plan to help them live independently and safely within in their own homes.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Housing Department and external partner agencies to support tenants, manage anti-social behaviour and to prevent tenancy failure.

Full training will be given to candidates with transferable skills who have the ability and willingness to learn.

 We’re looking for an individual who has experience of:

  • Working in a fast-paced customer focused environment.
  • Providing housing related services, with a proven understanding of allocations, lettings and the void process.
  • Working with older and/or vulnerable people, with an understanding of the issues they face.
  • Working with external agencies and have the skills to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • Managing a diverse workload with deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Keeping accurate records and the ability to record and report information accurately both verbally and in writing.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A great track record for providing excellent customer service in a housing environment.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision, manage their own workload and keep to tight deadlines.
  • Someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours.

What you need to know:

  • This is a permanent role, and you will have a caseload across the Broxtowe Borough. Travel throughout the borough is essential, and mileage will be paid.
  • Your caseload will include visits to tenants in their own homes or the office.
  • There will be a requirement to work outside of office hours on occasions.
  • Training to help you in the role will be provided.
  • Successfully shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend a formal interview to determine suitability for the role.
