Budget Consultation 2024/25

Broxtowe Borough Council conducted its annual budget survey, asking local residents, businesses and community and voluntary organisations to share their thoughts on Council services and how they think the budget should be spent.

In November 2023, we ran our Budget Consultation to help us set a budget that balances the needs of the community with the money we have available to spend through income and grants.

How many people took part?

1,393 responses were received.

Highlights

The results showed that:

  • The most preferred option for balancing the budget was to “generate income from commercial activity” at 72%.
  • Over 51% of respondents were either very satisfied or satisfied with the way they can access Council services.
  • 49% of respondents felt that funding for Community Safety should be increased.

Next steps 

Cabinet noted the outcome of the Budget Consultation and considered the findings as part of the budget setting process for 2024/25.
