Budget Consultation 2024/25
View the results of the 2024/25 Budget Consultation.
In November 2023, the Council ran its annual Budget Consultation to help set a budget that balances the needs of the community with the money available to spend through income and grants.
The survey asked local residents, businesses and community and voluntary organisations to share their thoughts on Council services and how they think the budget should be spent.
How many people took part?
1,393 responses were received.
Highlights
The results showed that:
- 71% of people were either ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the area in which they live
- The most preferred option for balancing the budget was to “generate income from commercial activity” at 72%.
- Over 51% of respondents were either very satisfied or satisfied with the way they can access Council services.

Next steps
Cabinet noted the outcome of the Budget Consultation and considered the findings as part of the budget setting process for 2024/25.
