Housing Repairs are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic multi skilled operative to join our in house repairs team.
In this role you will spend your day undertaking a variety of repairs to our Council’s housing stock across a variety of trades. As you will be visiting various properties you will require excellent customer service skills in order to effectively communicate with our customers
Most of your work will be undertaken in tenanted properties, but you may also be required to work in empty properties, to undertake work to get these ready for new tenants.
We’re looking for an individual who has experience of:
- Working in social housing
- Undertaking repairs in tenanted properties
- Working in a team
- Accurate record keeping
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent technical skills in more than one trade
- Hold at least one qualification to evidence their ability
- Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Be positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Have a flexible approach to meet the needs of a demanding service
- Be someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours

Successfully shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a short practical interview, where they will be required to bring their own hand tools to complete a variety of tasks that will evidence their suitability for the role. Power tools can be provided if needed. Candidates who pass the practical stage will then progress to a formal interview immediately afterwards.
