Fly a Flag for the Commonwealth Day 2024

Broxtowe Borough Council will join the 56 countries of the Commonwealth to fly the Commonwealth flag in the Borough, as part of the annual Fly a Flag for the Commonwealth Day on 11 March 2024.

10:00 AM - 10:45 AM

The Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Teresa Cullen, and students from Round Hill School will raise the Commonwealth Flag in Beeston Square at a special ceremony at 10.00am on Monday 11 March 2024. The theme for Commonwealth Day 2024 is ‘One Resilient Common Future’. It highlights how the 56 member countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Americas, the Pacific & Europe must harness their strengths by building resilience, unlocking potential, leveraging the ‘Commonwealth Advantage’ and fostering a connected, digital Commonwealth. This transformation paves the way for a future where wealth isn’t just widespread but genuinely equitable.
