The Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor David Grindell, will raise a specially commissioned Armed Forces Day Flag in The Square, Beeston on Monday 20 June at 11.00am to mark a week of events being held across the country. As part of Armed Forces Day celebrations, a Freedom of Entry Parade will take place later in the week on Armed Forces Day on Wednesday 22 June in Eastwood. Soldiers from 170 (Infrastructure Support) Engineer Group will march through Eastwood Town Centre at 1.30pm to exercise their freedom of entry to the Borough of Broxtowe. The local community is urged to line the streets to show their support. This year’s Armed Forces Day will take place on Saturday 25 June to honour the British Armed Forces past and present, service families, reservists and cadets. The Armed Forces Day National Event will be hosted by Scarborough Borough Council this year.
