The Broxtowe Borough Aligned Core Strategy - Proposed Changes February 2013

On 28th January 2013 the Secretary of State for Transport announced that Toton Sidings is the preferred location for a High Speed 2 (HS2) rail station to serve the East Midlands.

This was discussed at a Cabinet meeting on 29th January 2013. Broxtowe considered that this was a matter of strategic significance likely to affect the development potential for land in the vicinity of the HS2 station at Toton (Opens in a New Window) (Opens in a New Window).

As a result the Council proposed amendments to the Publication Version of the Core Strategy (.pdf) (4.97MB) (Opens in a New Window) (Opens in a New Window) to include the area around Toton as a strategic location for growth.
