Description

Join invertebrate expert Dave Goddard on an Aquatic Invertebrate ID course at Attenborough Nature Reserve. Attenborough Nature Reserve is home to a vast array of aquatic invertebrates such as Dragonfly Nymphs, Lesser Water Boatmen, Freshwater Shrimp and more! This course will start with an introductory session on aquatic invertebrates. Dave will lead a guided walk and pond dip out onto the reserve. This will be followed by species identification using microscopes to produce a BMWP (Biological Monitoring Working Party) and ASPT (Average Score Per Taxon) score from the invertebrates identified. Participants of all abilities are welcome – from complete beginners to those looking to expand their knowledge in a small group setting of up to six.

The workshop is based in the Conference Room with beautiful views across the water and includes lunch and refreshments. All our food is freshly made on the premises using locally sourced ingredients where possible. Our cakes and sweet treats are supplied by two independent, local businesses – Beeston Brownies and Homemade Café. With 48-hours' notice, we can cater for most dietary and allergy needs. Please get in touch using the contact form if you have any questions or to inform us of any specific requirements/requests. Visit https://www.nottinghamshirewildlife.org/events to book your place
