Sports and active play the focus for new pre-school at Stapleford’s Community Pavilion
The Ducklings Pop Out and Play Preschool for 0–5s will offer a new experience for local children to learn and enjoy activities that prioritise active movement, such as gymnastics, football and tennis, with brand-new equipment and unlimited access to the new Pavilion’s outdoor space.
Opening at the end of October, the pre-school will be staffed by sports coaches and Ofsted registered early years staff, offering 60 spaces for children for year-round care between 8.30pm - 5.30pm Mondays to Fridays.
Stapleford will be the fourth Ducklings preschool, joining Sandiacre, Beeston and Sutton Coldfield - all of which have a great reputation for delivering high quality childcare.
Ducklings Owner, and Stapleford resident, Medusa Sojourn, who was awarded Day Nursery Owners ‘Nursery Owner of the Year 2024’, said: “We’re so excited to open our new children’s nursery at the fantastic Stapleford Community Pavilion - the perfect home for our forward-thinking nursery.
“We know that early exposure to movement and physical activity can go a long way in improving a child’s motor skills, coordination, confidence and overall wellbeing, and through our unique curriculum that places a special focus on sports and physical education we hope to achieve our aim for every child to leave us with the belief that they can achieve even the most challenging physical goals.”
Gabby Barton, Stapleford Duckings Manager, thrives on creating unique experiences for her children. She said:
“We believe in offering more than traditional childcare and want to become a part of the local community, supporting families more widely with parent and child wellness workshops too. We’re please to be able to support the Pavilion’s mission of promoting active lifestyles and I can’t wait to lead the team here in Stapleford and meet our new children and families.”
Stapleford Community Pavilion is funded through the Government’s £21.1m Stapleford Towns Fund. Stapleford Towns Fund Board Chair, Ian Jowett, said:
“What a fantastic new childcare offer that Ducklings is bringing to our town. Not only will their experienced team provide the best in pre-school care, their focus on physical activity and wellbeing is unique locally, and complimentary to our goals for the Community Pavilion project. A win-win.”
Ducklings is currently recruiting for deputy mangers, childcare practitioners and sports leaders – visit www.ducklingsnursery.org.uk for more details.
