Housing Scrutiny

This page shares information about the Housing Scrutiny Group

The Housing Scrutiny Group aims to review an area of the Housing service and make recommendations for service improvements twice a year. The projects can vary in number of meetings required based on the scope of chosen area.

Currently, the group are finalising their Voids Service Scrutiny report following a review of the Repairs element of the Council's 'Voids' (empty homes ready to be relet to new tenants) process. Once complete, the report and updated 'Lettable Standards' (policy governing the minimum standard our properties must achieve to be let out) will be circulated to the Housing Improvement Board, and a copy will be available on this page.

The Scrutiny Group will also meet with relevant managers 6 months after the report has been agreed to review how the recommendations have been implemented, review performance and analyse the new tracked system.

If you are interested in being part of a future Scrutiny project we will be scoping a new service area soon so check the table below for dates of meetings. For any other information email housing engagement@broxtowe.gov.uk or call 0115 917 3935.
