A music parade will be marching down Eastwood High Street towards the fitting launch venue at the D.H. Lawrence Museum. The parade sets off from Eastwood Library at 11:30am and is open to all to join in the festivities and help us fill the Town with sound!

The Edi Johnston Bit then gets the birthday celebrations started in the museum garden stage, co-hosted with Broxtowe Women’s Project – a musical comedy act to get toes tapping and good times flowing.

Nanuk then takes to the stage at 1:00pm, a soulful acoustic singer/songwriter fresh off the release of his new song ‘Spaceships’.

D.H. Lawrence Music Festival legend and organiser, Ben Mark Smith, alongside his partner Hannah, then bring us some classic country covers at 2:00pm, under the alias Whiskey River.

Closing out the stage for 2025 is JJ Lovegrove, playing exclusive songs from her upcoming E.P., inspired by the writings of Lawrence – a perfect postlude to the festival opening.

Festival organiser, Ben Mark Smith, said, "Its a pleasure to organise the D.H. Lawrence Music Festival each year and get to see the support that the people Eastwood give these upcoming artists and our charity.

“10 years Is a massive milestone for us and to have seen it grow from its initial evening in a few venues to the mammoth event it is now is wonderful. It wouldn't be possible without its creation by Eastwood local Chris Barlow and the support of Broxtowe Borough Council and Watsons Estate Agents.

All I ask is that each year is that everyone has a good time, support these artists coming to perform, and gives the charity (BlindEye) the attention they deserve.

Portfolio Holder for Health and Leisure, Councillor Teresa Cullen, said, “We are so proud of the rich culture we have in Eastwood and Broxtowe, and of the cultural events we have across the Borough. The D.H. Lawrence Music Festival is a truly special event, and the fact that it is celebrating its 10th birthday this year is testament to just how much it is loved by people in Eastwood and beyond.

“Ben has done an incredible job in organising a festival that is accessible to all, and provides a fantastic platform for so much local talent.”

Museum and Collections Officer, Carolyn Melbourne, said, "I'm delighted that once again, the museum can host a stage at the event and has the first scheduled acts.

“In fact, there will be the chance for families to participate, by joining the free music parade through the town. The parade meets at 11.30am outside Eastwood library. It is open to all who would like to join, instruments will be provided: come help us to make some noise on our way to the museum for the launch of the music festival."
