Armed Forces Day 2025 Flag Raising To Honour The Armed Forces Service Personnel

17/6/2025 - The Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Robert Bullock, will host the Armed Forces Day 2025 flag raising ceremony in The Square, Beeston on Monday 23 June at 11.00am to mark a week of events being held across the country.

Colonel Nicholas Hile, Deputy Lieutenant, and soldiers from The Royal Engineers Works Groups, will join Councillor Robert to raise the flag and address representatives from the uniformed organisations to show our support and pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the men and women who serve or have served in His Majesty’s Armed Forces.Armed Forces Day 2025 Logo

“This year is very special as it also marks the VE Day 80th Anniversary. I’m glad that we can have our flag raising ceremony in Beeston Square. It is an important opportunity for us to show recognition and gratitude for all the Armed Forces do. I am proud to stand together in support of our Armed Forces community.” said Councillor Robert Bullock.

“The Armed Forces Service personnel has made huge personal sacrifices to protect the UK and its interests both overseas and on home soil. They are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers, providing security and fighting terrorism. I would like to thank all of them for working tirelessly to defend the Country and protecting our lives no matter what we are facing.”

At the same time, local authorities, members of the public, businesses and schools throughout the country will also raise their own Armed Forces Day flags to honour the nation’s servicemen and women.’’

This year’s Armed Forces Day will take place on Saturday 28 June to honour the British Armed Forces past and present, service families, reservists and cadets.
