World famous Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team to drop into Hemlock Happening 2025!

27/05/2025 - This is one you won’t want to miss! The Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team will be putting on a show at Bramcote Hills Park, celebrating VE Day 80 on Saturday 7 June, 2pm.

The Red Devils acquired their name in 1942 following the deployment of the Parachute Regiment into North Africa during the Second World War. The red African sand clung to the parachutes after landing, creating the illusion of a red tail, which caused German troops to dub British paratroopers ‘The Red Devils’.

Beginning as a display team in 1964 to boost army engagement and recruitment, the team now perform over 350 tandem skydives and 60 parachute displays every year! All members are still active personnel in the Parachute Regiment, and could be called into action at any time, personifying their motto, ‘Ready For Anything’.

But that’s not all, we have a whole host of entertainment to keep you smiling throughout the day. Here’s what more you can expect:

  • United Living Main Stage acts performing everything from popular hits to 1940s classics. Headlined by The Jaxx.
  • Food and drink stalls.
  • A licensed bar provided by Gladstonian Mobile Bar and Events, our bronze event sponsor.
  • An array of craft and trade stalls.
  • Sports activities, fairground rides and inflatable fun.
  • Community stalls.
  • Classic vehicles.
  • The Dance Arena showcasing a host of talent from local dance organisations and clubs.
  • Green zone with games and recycled crafts promoting environmental protection initiatives.
  • Firework finale at 10:30pm.

The Hemlock Happening will take place on Saturday 7 June 2025, 1pm – 10:30pm at Bramcote Hills Park, Bramcote, Nottingham NG9 3JT.

Parking is available on site for Blue Badge holders only. Free event parking is available at Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground, Stapleford NG9 8JL. Residents are also encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport to our events.
