Experience the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum by nightfall at Gin & Gaslight
On arrival guests will be greeted by Victorian hosts with an aperitif, before trying a variety of carefully selected gins. Visitors then have the opportunity to explore the award-winning museum in a unique setting, wondering the home where Lawrence was born by gaslight.
Guests will also have time to engage learn more about D.H. Lawrence and his literary legacy from their expert hosts.

Carolyn Melbourne, Museum and Collections Officer says, "The night's drawing in doesn't have to be a gloomy time of year, it's actually a really lovely time to see the museum. The historic rooms, lit by gaslight in the evening are so atmospheric. Oh, and the gin tasting: that's fun too!"

The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is where this literary legend was born on 11 September 1885. Only 30 minutes from Nottingham city centre, the museum is a must see for fans of literature, and for those wanting to delve deeper into Nottingham’s literary heritage.
Step back in time to experience the traditional Victorian wash house, see the parlour; a room only for special guests, feel the warmth of the fire in the kitchen and have a wander around the parental and other bedrooms. The museum’s permanent exhibition features items from Lawrence’s family and even paintings created by the author himself.
