2025 Garden Competition
To celebrate the tenants and leaseholders bringing a bit of life and colour to the community, in 2025 Housing held a Garden Competition.
The competition was sponsored by Matthews and Tannert (Opens in a New Window)
All Broxtowe Borough Council tenants and leaseholders could enter. If you don't have an allocated garden, we would consider crops in pots, and even houseplants on your windowsill.

- Best House or Flat Garden
- Best Indoor Plant
- Best Independent Living Communal Garden
- Best Wildlife Garden
- Prettiest flower
Tenants and leaseholders can enter as many categories as they like.
Prizes
Winner and runner up for each ‘Best’ category received gardening vouchers.
Winner: £50 Voucher
Runner up: £25 Voucher
Winner of Prettiest Flower got a private visit for 2 people to a National Garden Scheme garden in Broxtowe with tea, cake and a box of plants!
Judging
Judging took place between 23 June - 4 July. You will be informed of the exact date closer to the time.
The judging criteria focussed on colour, variety, creativity and effort. The size of the growing space is not be factored into judging.
Application
Tenants and leaseholders could enter the competition via an online form or request a paper form and send it back to the Engagement team by emailing housingengagement@broxtowe.co.uk

The council may use photographs of garden competition entries in future publicity and publications on the website and in the newsletter.
