Broxtowe Borough Council Installs Its 49th Mayor
Robert, a Broxtowe Alliance Councillor for Eastwood, serving two terms as a Councillor on Greasley Parish during the 1990s. His dedication to community service continued when he was elected to Eastwood Town Council in 2019. In May 2023, he became a Broxtowe Borough Councillor for Eastwood Hall ward.
Throughout his career, Robert has been deeply involved in the local community. He has served in various capacities, including as a school governor, trustee, and treasurer of the Eastwood Volunteer Bureau. His passion for preserving local heritage is evident through his role as trustee and treasurer of The Friends of the Cromford Canal. Currently, he continues his community service as a trustee of Eastwood Age Concern.
Robert is committed to making a positive impact and will be raising funds for Broxtowe Women’s Project and The Brain Tumour Charity, causes that are close to his heart throughout his mayoral year.
‘I’m really looking forward to taking on the role of Mayor,’ said Robert. ‘I’m keen to get out and about, meeting the diverse and wonderful people who make up our Borough.’
Councillor Robert Bullock takes over from past Mayor (2024-25), Councillor Sue Paterson, following her successful year in office which saw her undertake 256 engagements and raised over £14,000 for The Helpful Bureau.
Councillor Barbara Carr, a Broxtowe Independent Group Councillor for Beeston North, will assist Councillor Robert Bullock as the Deputy Mayor of the Borough.
