Since the summer of 2023, Broxtowe Borough Council and Stapleford Town Council have been working with local skatepark campaigners and non-profit community group Skate Nottingham to fundraise and plan for a new skatepark in Stapleford, following the removal of the ageing facility at Hickings Lane.

In November 2023, more than 200 local donors and supporters successfully crowdfunded over £12,000 towards the new skatepark, including match-funding from Sport England and donations from County Councillors. These funds provided match-funding in subsequent applications for larger capital funding sources for this skatepark.

This event is kindly funded by a grant from Sport England's 'Movement Fund', and follows a previous consultation session in November 2024. We will be set up with movable ramps and obstacles in the car park of the Pegasus Youth Football Club, off Peatfield Road, with a marquee in case of any bad weather. This is adjacent to the site where the new skatepark will be built.
