Description

Broxtowe Borough Council will mark the Holocaust Memorial Day 2026. A short ceremony will take place at the Holocaust Memorial within the Walled Garden at Bramcote Hills Park, Ilkeston Road, Bramcote, Nottingham, NG9 3JT on Tuesday 27 January 2026 at 10.50am for 11.00am. The theme for HMD 2026 is Bridging Generations. It is a call to action, a reminder that the responsibility of remembrance does not end with the survivors - it lives on through their children, their grandchildren and through all of us. We hope that Holocaust Memorial Day 2026 can be an opportunity for us all to engage actively with the past: to listen, to learn and to carry those lessons forward. By doing so, we build a bridge between memory and action, between history and hope for the future. The ceremony will last for approximately 30 minutes and will take place outside, so it is advised to wrap up warm and wear appropriate footwear for the weather conditions.
