F133a - Rent Accounting Officer

Up to £13,076 (Grade 5) per annum 18.5 hours per week

We are looking for a Rent Accounting Officer to join our Income Collection Team. The Income Collection Team are responsible for managing over 4000 tenancies and the Rent Accounting Officer support the team by maintaining rent accounting records including debit control, standing order, direct debit payments and balancing accounts.  Working alongside your job share partner you will prepare and maintain statistical information and ensure the accurate and timely posting of all monies received from customers.

In this role, you will provide a high level of customer service to resolve issues relating to payments or queries with direct debits.

You will manage your own workload and you will be responsible for the quarterly bulk production of rent statements, the timely issue of the annual rent review statements and the preparation, input and maintenance of year end procedures including the calculation and bulk uprating of any rent change.

Consideration may be given to applicants who do not achieve all essential criteria, but are able to demonstrate a good level of relevant work experience. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Rent accounting experience
  • A great track record for providing excellent customer service.
  • High degree of computer literacy and competent in the use of Microsoft excel.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision and keep to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Someone who will represent GREAT values and behaviours
  • Ability to learn quickly through training and support from colleagues.

This is a permanent role and will be based at our Beeston office along with some home working.

  • This is a permanent role based at the Council Offices, Beeston with some home working.
  • Working hours are 18.5 hours per week working Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays, with business hours Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm
  • There will be a requirement to work outside of office hours on occasions.
  • Training to help you in the role will be provided
