The Mayor's Silent Auction

For her final fundraising event she will be holding a Silent Art Auction featuring a fantastic 26 pieces of locally created art work to bid on – including pieces from the #ASketchADay Instagram project.

What's happening?

The Broxtowe silent auction will be taking place online from 22 April - 6 May giving you the opportunity to bid for 18 exciting lots with all proceeds going to charity. The auction will close at 5:00pm on Monday 6 May.

How does it work?

Step one: You browse the fabulous collection of artwork on offer.

Step two: You read the rules listed below.

Step three: You submit your bid including the lot number of the piece you are interested in, your name, contact info to civic@broxtowe.gov.uk

Step four: The winning bid is then contacted after the auction closes and will be invited to pay the amount bid. Payment must be received within 10 days of the auction and all items are sold as seen.

What are the rules?

• Aged 18+: Bids can only be made by those aged 18 and over.
• All sales final: All sales are final, there are no exchanges, and all items are sold “as is.”
• No refunds: No refunds after purchase. Bidders are responsible for item(s) once they’re claimed.
• No additional bids may be placed once the auction is declared closed.
• The highest qualifying bid (i.e. bid that complies with your established silent auction rules) wins the item.

Where does the money go?

All proceeds raised go to the Broxtowe Community Fund, a charitable trust created by the Mayor of Broxtowe to raise money for Broxtowe-based charity and voluntary organisations to support the people of Broxtowe.

What can I bid on?

Christine Zion is a digital artist who mixes photography with digital imaging to create her distinctive, abstract style images. Originating from France, Christine’s four pieces sold as part of this auction were part of the 2017 Art Culture Tourism exhibition that took place at the Spowage gallery in Nottingham.

Dr Janet Shipton is a Broxtowe-based artist who was diagnosed with Young On-set Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 47. She blogs about her journey as an artist with Parkinson’s Disease and teaches art classes and workshops alongside her painting.
