An LSP is a non-statutory, cross-sector body that brings together local government, public agencies and voluntary and community sector organisations to improve the quality of life for all who live, work and play in Broxtowe.

The LSP was formed in 2000 and is built in the spirit of co-operation, with members who are committed to working together towards shared objectives.

Broxtowe Borough Partnership Statement of Common Purpose 2020

Common Purpose

Local partners will decide the full range of work of their LSP to:

  • Co-ordinate the efforts, local plans, partnerships and initiatives of all the partners to ensure we are aligning our efforts for maximum impact.

  • Prioritise the areas of activity than need input and active partnership work.

  • Identify and Improve the drivers of well-being for the Borough and its inhabitants.

  • Integrate existing plans and initiatives so that it is easier to deliver improvements in health and wellbeing.

  • Reduce duplication and unnecessary bureaucracy; and make it easier for partners, including those outside the statutory sector, to get involved.

  • Narrow the gap between the most deprived neighbourhoods and the rest of the Borough.

Common Principles

  • Develop Openness and Trust: we will seek to work closely together, trusting each other to play their part.

  • Develop Communication & Empowerment: we will seek to improve links and understanding between each other, enabling others to act positively for the well being of all.

  • Focused Delivery: we will work creatively, making a positive difference by focusing our services and actions.

  • Forward Thinking: we will be innovative in shaping the direction of change to benefit local people and communities.

  • Clear Direction: we will avoid duplication, developing agreed priorities to maximise our impact.

  • Action and Continuous Improvement: we will develop realistic aims and undertake achievable tasks to make Broxtowe a better place.

The Partnership is made up of a Board and two task groups, the Health and Learning Disabilities and the Children and Young Peoples Task Groups.

Broxtowe Borough Partnership Board

This is the decision-making body for the LSP. It meets biannually in March and September examining topics which require a partnership approach and regularly forms task and finish groups to problem solve issues and deliver actions to address them.

Task Groups

The two Task Groups are responsible for identifying and bringing emerging issues to the attention of the Board and delivering action plans that will address key inequalities within the Borough. The action plans of the LSP are renewed every three years, however they are dynamic plans so throughout their lifetime they are augmented by additional actions to address issues as these are identified.

Broxtowe Health and Learning Disabilities Group

The focus of this multi-agency partnership is to identify and reduce health inequalities and social exclusion by developing and supporting strong partnerships with organisations delivering against health and well-being priorities for our area.

Its action plan covers topics such as: Health, Mental Health, Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Older People, Armed Forces Veterans, Substance Misuse, Access to Food and Tobacco Control.

Broxtowe Children and Young People Group

The Children and Young People's Task Group brings together statutory and community organisations that work with or provide services for children, young people and families. Its aims are to see local children and young people be aspirational, achieve their potential and be respected for participating in their community.

Its action plan addresses topics such as Child Poverty, Health and Wellbeing, Online Safety, Healthy Relationships and Youth Homelessness.
