Broxtowe Local Plan

The new Broxtowe Local Plan will replace the existing Part 1 and Part 2 Local Plans. It will guide how Broxtowe grows and develops over the coming years, setting out the Council’s vision and priorities for future development, including the location of new homes, employment, infrastructure and services. It will also establish how high-quality, well-designed places will be created, while protecting and enhancing Broxtowe's natural environment, biodiversity and green infrastructure.

Scoping Consultation

The Council has produced a Scoping Document. This scoping document is the first formal stage in preparing the new Broxtowe Local Plan. It asks questions to help shape what the Plan should cover before detailed policies and site allocations are prepared.

Consultation on the proposed local plan content and the evidence base will follow after this scoping stage.

On 30 June 2026, the Council published a Notice of Intention to Commence Local Plan Preparation(.pdf)(118KB)(Opens in New Window) (Opens in a New Window) in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.
