Christmas is Coming to Broxtowe – Starting in Beeston! Get ready to kick off the festive season as Broxtowe’s first Christmas Lights Switch On takes place in Beeston Square (NG9 2JG), along Foster Avenue car park and Beeston Town Centre. From 12:00pm, enjoy a festive market full of tasty hot food, sweet treats, gifts, and community stalls. Little ones can get into the spirit with face painting and festive fun throughout the afternoon. Fairground rides will be on Foster Avenue Car Park. Santa will be welcoming visitors at his magical grotto inside Beeston Library from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The main festivities begin in Beeston Square at 4:30pm with lively festive street theatre Christmas Present in a Box, performances from the Red Dance Group and FSA Dance Academy, festive singing from The Lanes Primary School and live music from 7-piece band Cranberry Flick, bringing the best of jive, rhythm and blues. At 5:30pm, the Mayor of Broxtowe will lead the Christmas Lights Switch On in Beeston Square. Then at 6:10pm, join Redeemer Church for festive carols at the top of Foster Avenue— before the spectacular firework display at 6:30pm, best viewed from Foster Avenue. Live music will carry on until 7:00pm this year! This event is organised by Broxtowe Borough Council and proudly sponsored by headline sponsor Boyes and Arc Cinema with the support from Beeston Library and Round Hill Primary School. Don’t miss this magical afternoon and evening of Christmas fun! We recommend using public transport if you can—the Beeston Tram and Bus Interchange is just a one-minute walk from the square. Please note, Foster Avenue car park will be closed all day, and parking in the town centre is limited. Affected residents will be notified in advance.
