Post Ref: T127 - Repairs Manager

Salary: £44,460 - £46,474 per annum. 37 hours per week

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer-focused individual, who can fulfil this challenging but rewarding role within the Council’s Housing Repairs team.

In this role you will lead our Responsive Repairs and Maintenance service supported by Four Team Leaders covering multi trade operatives and gas and electrical operatives. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality repairs are delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed performance targets. To support you in delivering this service you will work closely with our Compliance Manager and Customer Service Manager and their teams.

We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

  • Managing a team of trade operatives
  • Managing contractors and performance
  • Knowledge of social housing legislation
  • Budget Management
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues from other departments 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a qualification in a Housing/Construction or considerable experience working in a housing repairs team
  • Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Have strong ICT skills
  • Good knowledge of H&S legislation
  • Be enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Have a flexible approach to meet the needs of a demanding service
  • Be someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours
