Post Ref: T305 - Parking and Electric Vehicle Technical Officer

Salary: £26,899 - £28,320. 37 hours per week

This is a new and exciting role supporting the Council’s Parking Services and the continued development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the borough. We are looking for a proactive, organised and customer-focused individual to provide high-quality administrative, technical and project support across parking services, EV charging points, parking equipment and related service systems.

As Parking and Electric Vehicle Technical Officer, you will help monitor EV charging units and parking equipment, coordinate fault reporting and repairs, maintain accurate records, and liaise with contractors, residents, internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure enquiries, records and project documentation are managed efficiently and accurately.

You will support the delivery of EV charging schemes by maintaining project records, processing invoices and purchase orders, supporting income reconciliation, coordinating meetings, monitoring performance data, and preparing reports, summaries and service information to support effective delivery.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience providing administrative or business support in a busy office environment.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets, databases and project trackers, with appropriate attention to confidentiality.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience handling enquiries from customers, colleagues and external partners.
  • Ability to analyse information, monitor performance data and prepare clear reports or summaries.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work accurately under pressure.
  • A flexible, proactive approach to problem solving, service improvement and excellent customer care.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience of working within a local authority or public sector organisation would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicles, EV charging infrastructure, parking services or town centre environments would be helpful.
  • Experience supporting projects, programmes or service improvement activity would be advantageous.
  • Someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours.

What you need to know:
The role will involve site visits across the borough, including access to parking and EV infrastructure locations. A full UK driving licence is required, as the role involves visiting Council sites.
