Over £1.275 million invested into Kimberley’s high street businesses thanks to Kimberley Means Business Fund

£662,221 has been awarded in grant funding by Broxtowe Borough Council to local businesses, with the businesses themselves contributing £612,837 in match funding, helping to rejuvenate Kimberley’s high street.

Impressions Dental Care

Impressions Dental Care have been on Victoria Street since the 70’s serving generations of Kimberley residents and families, with current owner Sam joining the business in 2008, and taking it over with his wife Claire a little over five years ago, now sponsoring Kimberley Institute Cricket Club.

With a total of £14,000 in grants awarded from the Kimberley Means Business Fund, they were able to resurface the customer car park, providing safer and more accessible parking to customers, as well as accessible entry into the building, which Sam says has resulted in an uptick in patients.

Owner Sam said, “The grant has been incredibly valuable to Impressions Dental Care, enabling us to refurbish and improve the parking and access to our building. These improvements have significantly enhanced accessibility for our patients, particularly those with additional accessibility needs.

“We are extremely grateful for the Kimberly Means Business Grant and the support it has provided. Without this funding, the extensive works required would not have been possible, and we would not have been able to achieve the desired outcome. The grant has made a meaningful difference to our practice and, most importantly, has helped us provide a more accessible and welcoming environment for our patients.”

B Movement

Clair started B Movement Pilates in 2022 before opening her studio in Kimberley in 2024. In her two years open on Kimberley high street, Clair has organised flash mobs on James Street, free Pilates in the Park sessions at Noel Park, and led a charity dance show at Kimberley School, raising £3,500!

Clair received a grant of £5,000 from the Kimberley Means Business Fund which allowed for new flooring and décor in the studio and paid for a course to allow her to become a qualified teacher trainer. These improvements have helped boost interest in already popular classes, with many regularly selling out.

Owner Clair said, “I am SO grateful for the grant provided through the Kimberley Means Business Booster scheme. I wanted to create a calming modern space for people to move their bodies, build confidence and stay healthy. With this grant I was able to decorate my space without impacting my day-to-day cash flow, which was a huge help as a new business.

“Overall, the Council is amazing. The support and community we have in Kimberley make me so proud to trade there and be surrounded by so many wonderful successful businesses. Thank you!".
