Post Ref: T139 - Compliance Officer
Are you organised, proactive and passionate about keeping people safe?
We’re looking for a Compliance Officer to join our Housing team and help ensure our Independent Living schemes and General Needs properties remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll play a key role in our programme of compliance inspections and testing, including:
- Fire safety checks and testing, including fire panels, fire doors, extinguishers and emergency lights.
- Health and safety inspections across our housing schemes
- Asbestos and Legionella-related checks
- Checking service certificates and maintaining accurate compliance records
- Identifying and reporting defects and monitoring remedial works
- Providing practical advice and support to tenants and colleagues
- Escalating urgent health and safety concerns and providing performance information
You’ll be predominately based out and about across our stock so this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, practical role and working with people and independently.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with customers and as part of a team
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of social housing and housing compliance
- Experience checking service certificates
- Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently, meet deadlines and remain calm when dealing with challenging situations
- A commitment to excellent customer service and equality and diversity.
Experience of fire safety equipment testing, accurate record keeping and compliance legislation would be advantageous.
