Have your say on Broxtowe’s next budget
Broxtowe residents can visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/broxtowebudget27 to complete the online survey (Opens in a New Window). There is also a chance to win £50 shopping vouchers for those wishing to take part in a prize draw for taking part.
Everyone with a stake in Broxtowe is encouraged to complete the survey, including businesses and voluntary groups that operate within the Borough, who can share their thoughts as an organisation.
As well as helping the Council understand where residents feel the budget should be spent in the year ahead, there are also questions about satisfaction with Council services.
Questions are asked in the survey on a wide range of services provided by the Council, including waste collection, car parks, housing, street cleanliness, and the state of the local parks. Residents will also have the opportunity to answer open form questions.
Examples of delivery from this year's budget include:
-
Seeking external funding opportunities to support initiatives in Eastwood, including a Healthy Living Hub
-
Securing the delivery of a new refurbished leisure centre in Bramcote, with construction starting in autumn 2026.
-
Launching a new, affordable, complete funeral package at Bramcote Crematorium.
-
Ongoing investment in our housing delivery programme to provide quality housing to meet social and affordable housing needs.
-
Continued investment in Council homes with energy saving measures including external wall insulation, loft insulation and solar panels.
-
Funding to support our town centres through grant schemes.
-
Leading the way nationally to bring the property, such as the Old Rock pub in Stapleford up to a lettable standard, as part of the High Street Rental Auctions (HSRA) initiative.
-
Projects to protect and enhance the Borough’s history including work at Colliers Wood and the opening of Bennerley Viaduct’s ramp and visitor centre.
-
Continued progress on reducing our climate change footprint.

Portfolio Holder for Resources and Personnel Policy, Councillor Greg Marshall said: “This consultation will play an important role in shaping next year’s budget and helping us understand what matters most to our residents. Over the past year we have continued to deliver on our priorities and invest in the future of the Borough.
While Local Government Reorganisation still brings some uncertainty, the recent pause gives us a chance to take stock. It means we can spend time listening to residents, checking that our priorities reflect what matters most to them, and making sure our plans for the future are realistic and rooted in the needs of our communities.
“I would encourage everyone to take part and share the consultation with friends, family and colleagues so that as many voices as possible are heard. The results will be shared with the Council’s Cabinet to help inform the budget setting process.”
The survey will be open until 17 November.
