Broxtowe Youth Homelessness 

Councillor Carr is raising funds for Broxtowe Youth Homelessness and Age UK Notts throughout her year in office. 

Broxtowe Youth Homelessness is a charity which works to reduce the impact of homelessness and housing instability across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and beyond. They provide practical, person-centred support to people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or struggling to maintain stable housing. Their work includes one-to-one support, advocacy, emergency food and toiletry parcels, practical guidance around education, employment, and independent living skills.

Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire 

Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire aims to make life better for older and/or vulnerable people in Nottinghamshire. They provide numerous different services that help people navigate life’s later years and help people stay safe, warm and well at home through personalised energy efficiency advice. They work to secure benefit entitlements, such as Pension Credit and Attendance Allowance, as well as helping vulnerable service users protect bank accounts and assets by detecting and preventing scams and fraud. On top of this, Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire provide support for people living with dementia and their families, including running social events throughout the county to help people meet old friends and make new ones.

Fundraising Challenge in Support of Mayor’s Charity

Richard MacRae, Chair of Broxtowe Youth Homelessness is undertaking a fundraising challenge involving a series of sponsored runs . The run will take place from June to September, culminating in the Nottingham Robin Hood half Marathon on 27 September 2026.

A Special Fundraising Event hosted by Miss Zandra Pepper

Residents are being invited to support the Mayor of Broxtowe's chosen charities by attending a special fundraising evening hosted by Miss Zandra Pepper on Friday 24 October, at Greasley Miners Welfare Club.

The evening will include an Elvis Presley tribute act, stand-up, interactive comedy and drag cabaret. The event promises to be a fun-filled night with proceeds donated to the Mayor’s charities.

Mayor’s Charity Quiz Night

You are invited to the Mayor’s Quiz Night on Thursday 29 October at 7.30pm at The Nurseryman Pub, Derby Road, Beeston.

Join the Mayor, Cllr Barbara Carr, for a fun filled evening of friendly competition and fundraising. All proceeds from the event will go to the Mayor’s chosen charities.

Tickets are available now from The Nurseryman, plus £1 charity raffle.

Prizes include: A bike, cinema tickets, swimming pass, padel pass, restaurant vouchers and more.
