Beeston Christmas Lights Switch On

Beeston's Christmas Lights Switch On will take place on Saturday 15 November 12:00pm – 7:00pm, Beeston Square (NG9 2JG).

From 12:00pm, enjoy a festive market full of tasty hot food, sweet treats, gifts, and community stalls. Little ones can get into the spirit with face painting and festive fun throughout the afternoon.

Santa will be welcoming visitors at his grotto inside Beeston Library from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Sensory-friendly sessions are available between 1:00pm and 2:00pm—booking is free on Eventbrite but places are limited, so reserve early - book for free now! (Opens in a new window)

The main festivities begin at 4:30pm with lively street theatre Christmas Present in a Box, fairground rides along Beeston High Road and Foster Avenue, and live music from the 7-piece band Cranberry Flick, bringing the best of jive, rhythm and blues.

At 5:30pm, the Mayor of Broxtowe will lead the big Christmas Lights Switch On in Beeston Square. Then at 6:00pm, join Redeemer Church for festive carols at the top of Foster Avenue - just before the spectacular firework display at 6:30pm, best viewed from Foster Avenue. Remember, the live stage performance will carry on until 7pm this year!

This event is organised by Broxtowe Borough Council and proudly sponsored by Boyes and Arc Cinema with the support from Beeston Library and Round Hill Primary School. Don’t miss this magical afternoon and evening of Christmas fun!

We recommend using public transport if you can - the Beeston Tram and Bus Interchange is just a one-minute walk from the square. Please note, Foster Avenue car park will be closed all day, and parking in the town centre is limited. Affected residents will be notified in advance.

Road Closures

Please note the following proposed road closures (during the road closure period no vehicles or deliveries will be permitted).

•    7:00am – 8:00pm Chilwell Road between Styring St junction and Foster Avenue up to Commercial Avenue junction.
•    7:00am – 7:30pm Along Beeston High Road up to Station Road and Derby Street Junction.
•    7:00am – 7:30pm Beeston Square will be closed to accommodate entertainment.
•    4:30pm – 7:30pm Foster Avenue and Commercial Avenue.
•    All Day Foster Avenue Car Park will be closed.
•    6:00pm – 7:00pm Alleyway from Foster Avenue alongside Roundhill School to Glebe street  (plus no access from the Devonshire Avenue car park).
