Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan
Broxtowe Borough, Nottingham City and Rushcliffe Borough Councils are currently producing the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan.
Details of past consultations can be found on the Greater Nottingham Planning Partnership website. (Opens in a New Window)
The Councils are now working towards undertaking a further consultation on a draft Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan.
The Councils previously consulted in 2024 but there have now been key changes:
- In December 2024, an updated National Planning Policy Framework and a new Standard Method for calculating housing need was published.
- In March 2025, Gedling Borough Council took the decision to withdraw from the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan in order to prepare its own Local Plan.
To reflect the changes, the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan has been updated and a new Regulation 19 Publication Draft consultation has been carried out.
The consultation period ran from Wednesday 12th March 2025 to 17:00 on Friday 25th April 2025. Comments are currently being considered.
Strategic Plan Preparation Timetable:
- Pre-submission Regulation 19 Draft: March 2025
- Submission of plan (Regulation 22): September 2025
